From the centre of the resort in St. Johann in Tirol, you walk past the front of the Dekanatspfarrkirche in the direction of the hamlet of Oberhofen. When reaching the bridge – shortly after the statue of John of Nepomuk – you turn into a side street, and ultimately reach the Achendamm. The first fork in the route to the left, from the Achendamm, takes you to Bauernweiler Oberhofen, with the mighty farms of the Lower Inn Valley lining the way. If you follow the signs to Kalkstein, you will go past a trotting course and then reach the highest hamlet of St. Johann in Tirol. At around 900m altitude, at the hamlet of Scheffau, the route branches off to the right by a gate, onto a forest path in the direction of Kalkstein and Adlerspoint. Head further up over several curves on this, until the route enters the forest. After two bends, you reach a fork in the route at around 1,120 m, where you switch left to take the path towards Adlerspoint. Head up on the ridge of the slope and follow the red, white and red floor markings, through the alternating forest and pasture terrain, until you reach the saddle underneath the Baumooskogel. Head down and right at the fork in the route to the Baumooskogel, and continue to the Baumoosalm.
From the pasture, a short section of road leads down, and then up again to the Bruggwirtsalm (1,356 m). Always follow the signs in the direction of Adlerspoint, and walk through the pasture area to the former mountain guesthouse (1,419 m, 3 h 30 min from the centre of St. Johann i. T.). Continue on a short section of forest path, before branching off to a path on the left in the direction of Kirchberg. This runs, first of all, through mountain pine-dotted land and then leads to open pastureland, where you reach the highest point of the stage at around 1,550 metres altitude.
The path continues to go slightly downhill, before it soon becomes a meadow path and leads down to the Gerstbergalm (1,501m). Continue straight ahead behind the pasture, still in the direction of Winterstelleralm, through a small valley. Walk down the road to the pasture. At the Winterstelleralm (cultivated, 1,423 m, 1 h 15 minutes from the Adlerspoint), you head towards Lindtalalm / St. Ulrich am Pillersee until the track turns left towards Lindtalalm. Follow the way and turn left again before you reach the Lindtalalm. The way crosses the hillside and leads down to the valley. Cross the asphalt street and walk along the meadow, pass the church of St. Ulrich am Pillersee and reach the finish of KAT-Walk on the other side of the road in front of the bank.
