Head east up the Rems valley via Zimmern and Böbingen to Mögglingen. In the town center, cross the B 29 and head towards Aalen in the eastern industrial area of the town to Hermannsfeld. The route climbs slightly to Essingen and then turns right at the beginning of the village towards Lauterburg. The Rems spring is soon reached in the deeply incised valley. Then back to Essingen and with a longer ascent to the Albuch and Tauchenweiler. Here, follow the hiking trail to Bartholomä and from there continue on the plateau towards Heubach to the Möhnhof, where the road branches off to the Kitzing plain and the Kitzinghöfe farms. At the crossroads at the end of the plain, turn right and continue through the forest to the Bargauer Kreuz, from where you reach the Beurener Kreuz. The road (very steep!) takes you quickly down to Bargau and from there you follow the signs to Schwäbisch Gmünd.
